Sandra Aguebor is Nigeria's first female mechanic and the founder of The Lady Mechanic Initiative. This is an organization that teaches women how to repair cars and achieve financial independence. #FemWiki

Aguebor became interested in cars at a very young age, but her father did not approve of her passion and tried to discourage Sandra's interest in automobiles. However, Sandra was determined to carve her own path in life. She attended a technical college in Benin to take a course in car repair.

She began her career in the 1980s at a local garage, where she learned everything about cars. Aguebor initially worked at another shop before setting her sights on starting her own business and helping women.

The project is financially supported by the Open Society Foundation I Open Society Georgia Foundation.
